Aichi Medical University received the setting authorization in December, 1971 and did open studies as specialty college only for School of Medicine in April, 1972. Nagakute-shi in the suburbs of the Nagoya-shi eastern part has this school, and Nagakute-shi is famous for TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi and TOKUGAWA Ieyasu as the site of international exposition "World Exposition Aichi" held as the stage of "fight of Komaki, Nagakute" that fought again in 2005 in 1584, but is town where the average age is the youngest again in the whole country which lives for these past several years, and links the name in good point ranking high rank.

After the open studies, Graduate School of Nursing was established in College of Nursing, 2004 in Graduate School of Medicine, 2000 in 1980, and this school became 2 Faculty, 2 Graduate School graduate course systems. Past School of Medicine graduate is 4,318 people, and 4,276 people (99.0%) of those become doctor, and, as for the graduate total number of College of Nursing, 1,786 people (99.9%) of those become nurse with 1,788 again.

We strive to be a medical university that is chosen and recognized by society. In addition to superior education, study, medical treatment by good leader, characteristic aims at University which there is by construction of the unique field indicating the significance of being of Aichi Medical University. Therefore we always made an effort so that all of education, study, the medical treatment system maintained the highest standard. We also place great emphasis on international exchange between the medical and nursing departments of our university and those in various Western and Asian countries. We are actively expanding our contribution to health care in the community by providing and maintaining various emergency medical services such as the helicopter emergency medical service(Doctor Heli.).
