We are the largest voluntary movement in Uruguay and the only one recognized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement. With more than 100 years of presence in our country, Scouting is today a vigorous and dynamic non-formal education movement that brings together more than 3,000 youth, children and adult volunteers throughout the national territory.

We are a Movement of young people, children and adults, freely and voluntarily committed to transforming ourselves and our society through educational action. The educational action of the Movement is based on its own method: the Scout Method. or boys between 10 and 13 years of age, a proposal is presented that challenges the participants of this Branch to work together with their companions to live the scout adventure.

Through the “patrol system” (small groups of between 5 and 7 boys), participants are invited to create a close bond of brotherhood, respecting a single law that unites everyone: the Scout Law. In turn, each boy is invited to be able to choose his own path, which challenges him and encourages him to learn new things.

To achieve this, they are invited to participate in camps, walks, climbs, river crossings, learning techniques; instances in which they will be challenged to give their maximum effort, to achieve the Scout Adventure together.

All these activities are carried out by the educators of the institution (adults responsible for carrying out the proposal), who will seek to stimulate the boys in order to work on the contents reflected in the document of the Youth Program of the Scout Movement of Uruguay.

The Youth Program aims at the integral development of the boys, understanding above all the biological and psychological stage through which they pass, a stage of great changes, maturation, rebellion and search. That is why educators rely on a peer education system, based on a value system freely accepted by the boys, which will be the basis of community work and the challenge of the scout adventure.
